Inquiry Week 2!
Hey team! Welcome to my inquiry project stream. Inquiry Project? funny I brought that up⌠let me tell you about mine:) I have decided to make my inquiry project (drumroll please) A DIGITAL SCRAPBOOK!!! (hold for applause). I realized I have very little documentation of my life since I have moved to Victoria and I want to have something to show my kids and say âHey! look how cool and fun my life was at 19â.
While brainstorming I came up with a short list of criteria for my project and it needed to be something that I would:
A. Enjoy doing and enjoy once it is finished. – I wanted to make something meaningful to me that wouldnât be discarded or forgotten about once the course was over.
B. Always wanted to do and never followed through. – If I made it for marks in a class I would be motivated to finish instead of pushing it aside because Iâm âtoo busyâ.
C. Something that I would be more comfortable doing by hand so the use of technology would put me out of my comfort zone. – I am not comfortable using technology in the slightest so if I chose something I was excited to do before this course I can learn to push my limits and think âhow can I create it digitally, AND improve it using methods that would not be possible without technology.â
Iâm super excited for the final project (obviously, its why I chose it) but Iâm really looking forward to learning how to cut and edit videos (criteria C.) as well as learning platforms like Canva to make it visually appealing. I am a little nervous that it is going to be overwhelming and a lot of work but I think me being so excited will help keep me from burning out because if I enjoy working on it than it wont be a burden to have long hours.
My next step is to make a weekly plan on how I will be breaking the project down and allocating time in my weekly schedule to work on it. I am also going to start collecting inspiration pictures and how-to videos that I can refer to if I get stuck or feel uncreative.
